Overview

Front of House (FOH) Supervisor

A Front of House Supervisor at Canada's leading casual dining restaurant, Boston Pizza, assists the General Manager with the Restaurant’s daily operations. This includes supporting the training, development, and performance management of the Front of House team members. The Front of House Supervisor supports the team to ensure that our most important people, our Guests, and team members, have an excellent Boston Pizza experience from start to finish. They also demonstrate outstanding leadership abilities, believe in championing a fun and safe work environment, and contribute to thriving workplace culture.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, head office personnel, and other restaurant personnel 
  • Spending a reasonable amount of time each shift on the floor assisting and working with staff 
  • Working as a team with co-workers to achieve k times 
  • In the absence of any subordinate (Host/Hostess, Server, Bartender, Expeditor, Mobile Server), front of house supervisors must resume all duties and responsibilities associated with that position to the best of their abilities, until a suitable replacement is found 
  • Completing daily checklists, weekly cleaning lists, and other operational checklists 
  • Cleaning and maintenance of facility, property, and equipment 
  • Following food safety regulations  
  • Consistently implementing performance management system (conducting employee counselling and recognition)  
  • Following guidelines and keeping up to date with Boston Pizza standards such as: product knowledge, menu updates, promotions, etc. 
  • Adhering to Canalta and Boston Pizza operational standards 
  • Consistent coaching and development of front of house employees (training) 
  • Attending and being punctual for scheduled management meetings  
  • Managing and controlling food, beverage/liquor, and waste costs in the restaurant (food cost theoretical variance cannot be greater than 2%) 
  • Ordering, invoice paying, and managing inventory of all restaurant products and services  
  • Monitoring and managing labor costs in the restaurant (meeting labor percentage targets that were budgeted for at the start of the year) 
  • Delighting guests through managing and ensuring guest experience is satisfactory; handling and investigating guest concerns effectively  
  • Ensuring all cash management policies are regularly practiced and upheld within the restaurant (cash shortage cannot exceed the threshold of .05% of sales, required to take restaurant deposits to the bank daily) 
  • Sending in administrative paperwork such as: invoices and payroll in a timely fashion 
  • Being involved in local community marketing initiatives (this does not pertain to volunteer work) 
  • Having a positive and professional demeanor while working  
  • Following all Canalta and Boston Pizza policies and procedures including: Confidentiality, Conditions of Employment, Respectful Workplace, Uniforms, etc. 
  • Adhering to, demonstrating, and enforcing Canalta’s core values in all attitudes and behaviors
