About the Role

Boston Pizza Smithers (BP045) is seeking a full-time, permanent Restaurant General Manager to lead all aspects of daily restaurant operations across Front of House, Heart of House, and bar. Reporting directly to the Franchise Owner, the General Manager drives sales performance, controls costs, develops the team, and ensures every guest has an outstanding experience.

 

In addition to enhancing the Guest and team member experience, the General Manager will work to attract Guests by developing and implementing marketing, advertising, public and community relations programs. The General Manager is responsible for ensuring that our most important people, our Guests and team members, have an excellent Boston Pizza experience from start to finish. They also demonstrate outstanding leadership abilities, believe in championing a fun and safe work environment and contribute to a thriving workplace culture.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all daily restaurant operations (FOH, HOH, bar)
  • Hire, train, schedule, and develop a team of 40–55 employees
  • Manage all financial operations: payroll, accounts payable, invoicing, inventory, and period reporting
  • Control food, labour, and operating costs to meet franchise targets
  • Ensure full compliance with Boston Pizza brand standards, food safety regulations, and BC liquor laws
  • Manage vendor and supplier relationships
  • Drive local marketing, social media presence, and community engagement
  • Report to ownership on sales, staffing, and operational issues
  • Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and hospitality excellence

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of restaurant management experience, including at least 1 year as General Manager or equivalent senior leader
  • Full-service, high-volume restaurant experience required
  • Demonstrated track record of sales growth and cost control
  • Strong knowledge of payroll administration, scheduling, and HR basics
  • Serving It Right certification (BC) required
  • Food Safe Level 1 required or obtainable within 30 days
  • Experience with POS systems (POSitouch or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $55,000 – $70,000 per year
  • Full-time permanent position
  • Benefits package available
